welcome!
My name is Betty and I am a Czech-German nature lover who quit her job in academia and followed the urge to move to Scotland. And so here I am, working as a tour guide and having the privilege of showing others this beautiful part of the world that I can now call home.
And what a home it is. Lush green fields surrounded by ancient stone walls, rugged yet gentle mountain peaks, landscapes full of stories of those who wandered here and the smell of an open fire like nowhere else.
Yes, I came for the nature, but I stayed for everything else as well. Bothies, castles, folk sessions, endless cups of teas, you name it. And what a joy it would be if you decided to explore and experience those things with me. So, a very warm welcome to you, my friend. I look forward to making Scotland's history a part of our history. :)

To aim for the highest point is not the only way to climb a mountain, Nan Shepherd once said. And even if the feeling of finally reaching a summit and being rewarded with the most marvellous views is indescribable, one doesn't always have to be at altitude. Sometimes you just want to go for a walk, wherever your heart tells you to. The shire, the local park or the nearest woodland.
And I am here for all of it! On my channel I will explore Scotland’s hills, trails long and short, the village next door; but also talk about things that I consider dear and important: our environment, mental health and my love for literature.
